It’s finally happening. The only wedding that has ever really mattered (to me). Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Selina Kyle (Catwoman) are finally getting hitched. (Editor’s Note: I’m Team Talia, this wedding is a sham.)

Ever since their first kiss way back in 1940, fans wondered if there was ever going to be an end game to all of the flirting between these iconic characters. And now, thanks to Tom King, the current writer behind DC’s Batman ongoing series, we finally get the wedding issue. (Editor’s Note: Were people asking for this?)

Like any juicy summer comic “event”, there is a lot of buzz surrounding Batman #50 and, like a rallying cry at Warner Bros. corporate, there are more variant covers than you can shake a semi-mainstream, BDSM relationship at. (Editor’s Note: Comics are for kids!)

Among Super Kaiju’s picks is this lot from Ultimate Comics, featuring our resident favorite artist, Nick Derington (Doom Patrol, Mister Miracle). It comes in 3 styles: Normal Variant (3000 copies), Sketch Variant (1000 copies) and the Virgin Full-Color Variant (1500 copies). (Editor’s Note: … Odd choice of words for that last option, Ultimate Comics.)

This week saw the release of Batman #48 so you still have some time to pick up those trades or read the issues digitally to catch up to this event. And, if you have those old key issues of Batman and Catwoman, it might be time to (carefully) remove them from their bags and boards and take a look at how it all started.
